Hoek van Holland is the furthest point of my delivery area: where the land ends and the Nieuwe Waterweg flows into the sea. Officially it belongs to Rotterdam, but from The Hague you drive there through the Westland. I deliver your Christmas tree here too, in my own car, carry it inside and set it up straight in the stand.
Because it's quite a drive, I plan Hoek van Holland in a fixed southern route together with 's-Gravenzande and Maasdijk. Order before the cut-off and I'll deliver the next day. Want certainty about the hour? Choose an exact time slot a bit further ahead.
Beach, ferry and wind
Everyone knows Hoek van Holland for its wide beach, the pier and the ferry to Harwich. In December it's quiet, with a fresh wind off the sea. That wind is also why I carry the tree inside still wrapped in its netting and only release it indoors: that way it arrives without damaged branches.
The village has many family homes and apartments, especially around the centre and towards the beach. In an apartment by the boulevard, people often choose a 125–150 cm Nordmann or an artificial tree of approx. 150 cm. In a family home, 150–175 cm usually fits.
